This is a poem that I just wrote. You need to read it real slow to get to the core of it. It's very deep, I warn you. Don't forget, read it slowly. By the way, this is not a joke. I really wrote it. Could this be the debut of my career as a poet? :)
I've been thinking...
Yes,
I've been thinking...
No,
I've been thinking...
Well,
I've been thinking...
I,
I've been thinking...

overcast
not a single sign of clearing
A long story, but my coworker thinks that I have some kind of phobia towards water, more specifically, rain. It's funny, because he warns me each time he hears about wet forecasts. Today wasn't an exception either. As I listened to the distant roars of electric discharges, he called and showed me the latest report of Finnish lightening stations scattered all over the country. He smiled and, with his index finger, he pointed on the map with dense activities, under which it read, clearly, Oulu.
So I began to pack my things. I had to show him how scared I was. I knew it was not even 5pm, way before when I'm supposed to leave. Yes, I did feel guilty for leaving so early, but I wasn't in the mood for an unwanted shower either. Said bye and I got out of there as fast as I could.
As I walked into my apartment, it began to pour down with full power. I watched the rainfall from the comfort of my room, nice and dry. Yes, I win this time. And I could almost hear the kids making lot of noise outside trying to outdo the rain...
I should really learn Finnish...
Click on Galleri... I've added a guestbook. Why? I dunno. Just because, I guess.

right now
at this very moment
I'm not a perfect person / As many things I wish I didn't do
But I continue learning / I never meant to do those things to you
And so I have to say before I go / That I just want you to know
I've found a reason for me / To change who I used to be
A reason to start over new / And the reason is you
I'm sorry that I hurt you / It's something I must live with everyday
And all the pain I put you through / I wish that I could take it all away
And be the one who catches all your tears / That's why I need you to hear
I've found a resaon for me / To change who I used to be
A reason to start over new / And the reason is you
And the reason is you
And the reason is you
And the reason is you...

really
it snowed here, twice.
I just got back from this beach that I had no idea it existed until today. The weather was perfect; not a single cloud and warm like a real summer day. There was a 2-day beach volleyball competition going on, too. I'm thinking of going back tomorrow just to chillax a little more.
On the way back, we stopped at the market place and had a fairly inexpensive all-you-can-eat salmon meal. Though a little salty, it was extremely delicious. Oh I love salmon so much. I wanted to go for a third but I didn't. My stomach would explode, I had to convince myself.
I got myself another bottle today. And I lost an important piece that goes with my earbuds. Then again, you lose some, and you gain some.
As a matter of fact, I gained so much today. So much that I couldn't care any less about my earbuds... nor anything else in the world, because... Because I've missed you.

drunk
at last
I've almost finished my brand new bottle of vodka last night. Reason? None. I'm an alcoholic, I know. I like drinking, but don't you just hate it when you get up the next morning and find yourself very dry? You're so dehydrated that your lips roll up inwards against your teeth each time you open your mouth. Nonetheless, I like drinking. I know, it's only a matter of time before my liver fails on me.
Oh, I drew this on the other day while I was drunk. DUI... sorta.. I guess. And quite frankly, I have no idea what it is. Another reason to drink; you get a nice* surprise the next day... such as this. Hahah I am just kidding! I'm not a big alcoholic. Not just yet, at least. :)

if you become lost
make wherever you are look like home*
So I figured, since I only have a little over a month left here in Finland, I need to be more productive. I have so much work to do, it's not even funny. Today, I don't even know what I did. It just flew by. I really did not see the time pass by. All I knew is that I was hungry and it was time for me to go home and have dinner. The time between lunch and dinner.. gone.. completely.. That was weird.
The pictures are up. I didn't really like how the pictures turned out, but what can I do? It's really too bad because it was really really beautiful up there and now there's no way of sharing that with you. Sorry.
A little trivia.
68.2¡Æ N - Svolvaer (Lofoten Islands), Norway
66.5¡Æ N - Arctic Circle
65.0¡Æ N - Oulu, Finland
45.0¡Æ N - Montreal, Canada
38.0¡Æ N - Seoul, South Korea
In other words.. Lofoten islands is the farthest up north I've ever been in my entire life. :O

raining here
and elsewhere too
Free ticket + Spontaneous decision -> Day-Trip to Helsinki + One helluva day of rain
I will be back. That's for sure. :)
My bicycle is broken. I'm not an expert or anything, but I noticed that my back wheel was sorta not turning. Ummm... Anyway. After paying a double busfare (it's a funny country, you are required to pay for your bike too), I went to a couple of bikeshops in Tuira (a town right before the downtown of Oulu).
First stop. The guy didn't speak a single word in English. All he said, by showing his calculator, was that the labour cost is 10 euros and the wheel itself is 50 euros. He was nice enough to calculate the grand total of 60 euros for my convenience. >.< What the heck, I only paid 35 euros for that bike. I tried explaining that to him, but after about five minutes I realized that I was talking to a wall. Kiitos (Thanks), and I got out of there.
Second and last stop. Holy, the store was so huge that I almost got lost in it. After locating a clerk who spoke perfect English, I explained what was wrong with my bike. He seemed to know what he's doing. He looked at for a brief moment and said, If something is broken, it will cost you 20 euros. But if something is not broken... And I'm thinking, what? He must have meant 20 euros if something is not broken. I just got a quote from the other store and it was over 50 euros. This isn't right. 5 euros, said the guy. Oing??? Hoa~~~
Basically, that's when I gave him my name and got the hell out of there. I was afraid that he'd change his mind. heheh And of course, I did say Kiitos on the way out. The bike should be fixed by tomorrow. :)
I've just added Helsinki pictures to the section. :)

beautiful
that's what you are
Now that I found myself some time to spend on the internet, I am disconnected from it. Maybe the wind blew the server away, maybe. Nonetheless, I've decided to write one locally and have it posted up later when I get a chance.
I spent the Canada Day with a group of Korean businessmen who happened to be visiting Oulu as a part of their Grand Tour of Europe. They needed a translator, and I.. well, I was in desperate need of a company. A perfect timing, right?
The truth is, I miss home. And no, this is not the ordinary home-sickness that I've learnt to cope with many times. This one's different. I miss the warmth of a person, a human being. Saying that I've never felt it ever since I came to Finland would be a lie. But I am certain that some of you wouldn't understand what I'm going through. Even if you were in my shoes, I am not too sure you'd know what I mean. Don't get me wrong, this is what makes who I am. And what makes you makes me different, unique in my own ways. I remember when I graduated from high school. That's when I began to notice these little things that I'd been deprived of. Well, this time, I'm beginning to see how important those little things really are. If you're my friend and you are reading this, there's nothing I wouldn't trade to be there.
Anyway, the finnish portion of their Grand Tour was a success, both for them and for me. They made me realize how unfit I am to this environment (saddly) and gave me the strength to endure a couple more months (luckily). And how can I forget the pack-sojus and the laughter. This is the MasterCard scene.. There are things that money just can't buy. For everything else, you'd better be rich!
This windmill apparently provides enough of electricity for 100 households. Well, that's 99 + me. :)
Oh, I need a haircut. Badly.

darkness
is coming: days are getting shorter - soon the stars will shine
I miss being normal. Well, normal.. within the abilities of an average person.. you know what I mean!
Lately, a considerable amount of H2O has been falling down from the sky. Is god taking a leak? If that's the case,
then his bladder.. actually, I don't want to know. Nonetheless, it feels great. I've always liked rain. The best is when it
just pours down like there's no tomorrow. It brings cool breezes too. I let my windows wide open every now and then
just to have them enter my room. You feel that? Joy.
I got an email from my dad today. He seemed a little disappointed at the fact that I only called mom, and not him. Sorry buddy! :p So this one goes out just for you!
me? i'm just fine. just ordinary day and days.. work, golf work golf
kind of boring.. (i mean without your mom)
