a glimpse
of you
Does it ever happen to you?
I have a vivid memory of my childhood. Not all, but some.
It's so vivid that sometimes I get confused whether I'm living two lives of different times.
I go to bed person A. And then I wake up person B.
It's a very strange feeling. Is someone abbreviating my life or something?
I'd caught a glimpse of you.
It didn't take long to realize how deep I'd fallen in.
Like a blackhole that sponges up everything around it.
It, so powerful, yet invisible to my eyes...
This sucks.

MediaTeam vs CWC... What can I say, we simply are the best. It was a close match (final score of 4-3), but we managed to do it again for the second time. Despite the fact that the other team's been practicing on regular basis, we pulled it off. My ankle took one for the team though. It was unintentional... But I never knew my life would be this miserable without two properly functioning ankles. So, appreciate what you have!!
I've fixed the "menu", if you haven't noticed. I hope it's more user-friendly than the previous one. It's ugly, I know. I could've done a better job, I know. But that's how it is, you know. Anyways.
The picture on the left is.. well.. an empty glass. I don't know if you've noticed it, but the main "theme" of this month is emptiness. I know it's not that obvious but I tried. The reason behind it? I don't know. It just happened coincidentally... beginning with the two different versions of TheEmptyRoom and Void.
Is this glass full of empty or empty of full? It's for you to judge.

and all that...
only to be captured...
Two years before, they'd decided to send me to Korea to work with the people at the plant. So it happened, some huge sport event, by the name of World Cup, was happening there. Being a huge soccer fan as I am, you can pretty much guess how ecstatic I was. *sarcasm* But seriously, I was so happy that I didn't have to deal with it. Little did I know... I was too foolish to know that the feeling that I thought I'd suppressed back then would come back and haunt me two years later. Fuck.
I went to the harbour today. What a gorgeous day. My original (and primary) plan was to buy a bag of rice at the market in downtown, but since I was unsure whether the market would be open on Sundays I had to come up with a backup reason to justify the trip should the market be, in effect, closed. Let's go read... The harbour must be packed with people like me. So I made myself a sandwich and took off. On the way, I realized that my booze was running low so that too went on the list as a backup.
On the way back, I saw something. And I took a picture of it. And that's what I saw. As sugar dissolves, it spreads happiness. I remembered reading it off somewhere, but I couldn't remember. I don't know why but that was the first thing that I thought of when I saw it. The light comes from far far far away.. traverses through the air.. hits the water.. and all that.. only to be captured by my camera. So simple, yet so powerful. And I thought, wow, it's so beatiful!
Hey, did you know? Tomorrow's the longest day of the year. Not that it's gonna be any different than other days here (the days are long as it is), but I just wanted to remind it to you.
And two years ago today, I landed in Seoul in the middle of the World Cup. So much has happened since.

new pictures
are ready!
I just finished uploading most of my pictures from Copenhagen (103). A lot of them were pretty bad and had to be retouched.. in what way? You'll see what I mean... hehe
I seriously need to get some sleep this weekend. I am so tired...
[EDIT]
Indeed.. I got plenty of sleep! :) Plenty of sleep and I'm now ready to vote...
Here are the candidates in my electoral district [Pierrefonds--Dollard, Quebec]:
-Brunet, Marie-Helene (Bloc Quebecois) I don't think so...why I vote for her when her primary interest is to have Quebec separated from the rest of Canada...
-Colly, Garnet (Marxist-Leninist Party of Canada) Hahahah I've never heard of this one...
-Kouretas, Theodore (Green Party of Canada) ??? what the...
-Labrecque, Jean-Francois (Marijuana Party) X...cuse me??? did you say pot??? hahahha I like this one.. :)
-Lustgarten, Danielle (New Democratic Party)
-Paine, Andrea (Conservative Party of Canada)
-Patry, Bernard (Liberal Party of Canada)
Funny...

hahaha
as expected
I am now back in Oulu after an amazing weekend getaway to Copenhagen. I took so many pictures that I had to go over the memory card to delete any useless pictures, which of course wasn't an easy task. :p So, after four battery charges, a total of 254 pictures were taken, from which 31 were deleted due to lack of.. hmm.. lack of something. Anyway, I still haven't finished compiling all the pictures so you'll just have to wait a little longer. hehe In the mean time, enjoy the pictures that I took in Turku. :)
Anyway..
I can't help but to feel sorry for those who don't know the true meaning of friends. They bark, then laugh. They think it's funny. hahahahahaha yeah, so fucking funny. But I don't blame them, they're just born that way.
Then again.. who am I to say such things...
Anyway...
Happy birthday to you! :)

These are the courses that I will be taking next Fall.
SYDE 461 Systems Design Workshop 2 It's a mandatory project course, so I am kinda forced to take this one.
SYDE 533 Conflict Analysis I don't know exactly what it is, but the course description sounded cool. :)
SYDE 543 Cognitive Ergonomics I'm taking this for the same reason as above. hehe
SYDE 575 Image Processing Image processing... nuff said.
PSYCH 257 Psychopathology There are too many crazy people out there.. might as well learn about them!
FREN 303 Intro to Linguistics Tentative, still waiting for a response from the department.
The best part about this term is that I'm getting both Mondays and Fridays (and Saturdays... and Sundays) off! Ohhh yeeahhhhh :)
This is how one of many cafeterias looks like at Oulu. I don't actually use this one, but thought I'd take a picture of it. I think this one's closed for the summer as of last week.
Gone to Copenhagen, Denmark.

Game 7 of Stanley Cup Finals. I so fucking hate TB Lightnings. Can you say intense?
I hope the menu now caught your attention. Sometimes, keeping it simple pulls you away from its usability. Oh well, stop complaining and just deal with it!
In case you're interested, there will be the Transit of Venus on the 8th of June. For more information, check this site out [http://sunearth.gsfc.nasa.gov/sunearthday/2004/index_vthome.htm]. It's when Venus moves across the disc of the sun for about six hours, leaving only privileged half our globe to witness this historic event. The last time it happened was in 1882... So, the chances are, no one alive on the face of the earth has ever seen such an event. Don't you just feel so special now?
You still owe me an explanation... But that's just me.

I had thought of you so often - too often, to the point where it had distorted my sanity.
I have a challenge for you. Find me a word that rhymes with orange.
How are you doing? Me? How am I doing? I'm doing fine, thank you. Just wasting time doing jack, I guess. (Yay, so what's new.) Oh, this one day I got so sick of wasting time that I sat down and started to jot down the names of those, well.. anyway.. and the list just got bigger and bigger. Not a good sign. I really screwed up, didn't I?
Anyway, if you're still searching for a word that rhymes with orange, stop wasting your time.
And lastly, this one goes out to whoever said beautiful things about life: fuck you.
