a dance
of three candles lights and three wooden animals
Prologue
After having found the bin number 358 and before putting the application form in it, I'd quietly prayed to get an interview. It was way far-fetched, but worth the try. Besides, what have I got to lose? Yet, I actually didn't think I'd get this far. Little did I know, few days later an email was sent to my inbox which I read carefully to not miss a single word on the interview information. Here it was, an email from someone guy's computer that's half way around the globe that I've been applying to continuously ever since my first term at UW. No, it wasn't a dream...
...
It's officially official. Now that the contract is signed, in about two months, I'll be on my way to Finland. Yes, I, too, cannot believe this is happening to me. :o
Anyways, enough of that.
To the left is a picture that I took a while back when I'd gottem my camera fix. The layout of the picture's been on my mind for quite some time and I had finally found the opportunity to take it. It didn't really come out as I had intended originally, but nevertheless, I'm happy with the result. I wish I could do this for a living. Nahhhh
Sitting in front of my giant screen, clean (both the room and its inhabitants), I begin to wonder if it's going to get warmer any time soon.
Only you have the ability to turn it upside down.

a new chapter
of this book called my life?
This picture has been on my mind for close to a month as I unable to find the right pieces to put together. It's been sitting there, on my Desktop, waiting to be finished. I don't know what it is but I simply couldn't figure it out. Weird. I mean, now that I see it, there's nothing special with it. Nonetheless, I was able to bring the final touch to it today, just now, at 1pm. I can now finally move on to another set of pictures. ^^v
So I got an offer from The University of Oulu. Sounds like a really really nice job; I only wish that they'd pay a little more. Other than the financial situation, I thought about all the new things I'm going to be experiencing over there. For nocturnal mammals like myself, getting twenty-three hours of sunshine per day will certainly be a big shock. It just reminded me of that movie, Insomnia, starring Al Pacino. I'll be sure to bring a sleep shade with me. It's a weird feeling I'm experiencing at this moment. It feels.. surreal? oing?
An apology goes out to my friend Jake. Funny how we became two little brats like the old frosh days. Did you see the expression on their faces when we told them that we were in the third year? hahaha That was one crazy night. One thing's for sure, though... We've grown up, and we need to act like one! ;)
I have stopped chatting for I no longer need to chat.

is back in business
So I got back from the big city after getting an oil change. I'm awfully tired from all that driving and stuff. Wish I had my assistant driver come along. hahah :p
It is a little past three in the morning and I've been struggling with my computer ever since I got back. It's acting really weird. The speed seems to be back to normal for some unknown reason, but now my tablet's gone nuts. @.@ Oh man, I really need to sit down and work on this problem before it's too late. >.<
Anyways. As you may have noticed, I got my camera back from the repair place! They did a really nice job, too. Not only my LCD is new, it seems like the whole casing got replaced as well. Not a trace of ugly scratch marks! And where'd those dents on the side go? Yay~ One month without it was all worth it. ^^v
Do you like what I wore today? It's my favorite sweater. And since I was picking up my camera today, I wanted it to be one of the first pictures I take with it. ;) I wore a white shirt underneath it for a preppy look. Did it work? :p
Precious things are all too few. Guess that's why there's just one you.

the old days
have become one single page of memories
Wow, I am on a roll! This is the third update in four days! Yeah, I know; I should be working on the report, proof-reading it 'til my eyes drop dead. But you know what? It's not usual for me to be spending an evening at home. Especially lately it's been really hectic for me. So here I am. Taking a little break from 362. I don't know when I'll be able to upload this entry, but..
I am both physically and psychologically drained. I need a cure. It's a tragedy how 1B seems so distant nowadays. I reminisce the old days, when all we had was each other. But the fact is, those days are getting "old" by the minute, and there's no way getting them back. You remember MC? That public washroom we'd "discovered" and "frequented"? And all those songs we used to sing on our way back to V1 from KO. Didn't matter when, where, what, who, and... why. And oh! That summer was by far the hottest summer ever. I still remember sneaking into your room and "borrowing" your fan. heheh Those were the days...
Imagination, Ionization, Speculation, Modification, Illumination, Condensation, ...
I rewrote a few parts for this site. I guess the changes that I've made are very subtle and you won't notice all that much... Unless of course you know my site inside out like I do. But the chances are, you are not me. :p
What is this load of crap, anyway? Oh man, I think I'm really tired. You are right. I always make the right decision. And in the end, everything will turn out just fine. I have real strong feeling about it, too. And it's time for happy thoughts, right?
Right you are!

stranger
to my own eyes
Wow, two updates in three days, you may wonder. My answer? I did so just to break away from the routine. Or better yet, I felt this urge to go through each and every picture that I'd taken for the last ten months. Then I stumbled upon this picture. It was really early in the morning and there were very few people in the airport. And being bored being what I do the best, I wanted to capture how pretty I was in my own reflection. Obviously (in Fieguth's cocky tone), that didn't work. What did I do wrong?
Why did my computer suddenly decide to slow down? I wonder if this is in fact my computer? @.@ It no longer can take heavy load of processes. MSN Messenger, WinAmp, 6 IEs, CuteHTML, Photoshop, and ACDSee used to run harmoniouly without a single glitch. Now, it can't. What did I do wrong?
It's falling apart. And I wonder where this is leading to. So I've decided: Arrakis is where I'm going.
No one is listening until you make a mistake.

my chocolate
is what drives me
I noticed that I've been updating this page every five days for this month. Coincidence? I don't know. But why five? I still don't know. I do have five fingers on each hand, don't I? Nevertheless, five seems to be the magic number lately. I've also been ranked from five different positions. Coincidence? I don't know. But why five? I still don't know. I do have five toes on each foot, don't I? Today is the 14th. And 1 + 4 = 5. Hmmm. And you know what's more weird? It's 2:12am right now. 2 + 1 + 2 = 5. Wow. Am I going nuts?? @.@
I feel like I'm surrounded by some strange tall buildings. You know what I'm thinking right now? I feel like some weak distribution that's hopelessly laying right underneath a Gaussian with a much higher variance. And as the MICD classifier would state, the notion of I does not exist. Not a single ray of light penetrates deep enough to reach the core. I've been disappointed, and I can't deny that. Anyways, it's not the right time to discuss it. Right? :)
And oh. One thing's certain: I did study way too much for that Pattern Rec. I see MAPs (and its relatives) everywhere! @.@
By the way.. I won't be running out of chocolate for a little while. :p

much faster
than I had expected it to take
How many hours have I spent in DASL for the last few days? No windows, no watch. It seems to me that room is especially designed to loose the track of time. You don't feel anything. You no longer see what your eyes are reporting seeing. You no longer feel your own fingers as they continuously tap on keyboard, desperately trying to make sense out of the non-sense before the due time. But it doesn't really matter, since as long as you're in there, the time stops while the rest of the world goes around the sun. But there's one thing that I do know. I know that my internal clock works just fine. So I stormed out. And yes, I was hungry.. umm.. extremely hungry, that is. My clock never lies. And also, so it happens, I just simply wanted to get out of DASL, which by the way stands for Dumb Ass Systems Lab. (But seriously, I don't know what it stands for. No wait, that's a lie. I did know it, but now I forgot. he he he) Anyways.
One midterm down. Two more to go in the span of 2.5 weeks, including our reading days.
When I heard you were going to NYC, I panicked. That's why it got there a little earlier than expected. But you understand, right?

a little about me
according to some website
Your Temperament is: Artisan (SP) Your Variant Temperament is: Performer eSfP
Portrait of the Performer Artisan (ESFP)
- Artisans tend to be fun-loving, optimistic, realistic, and focused on the here and now.
- Artisans like to see themselves as unconventional, bold, and spontaneous.
- Artisans make playful mates, creative parents, and troubleshooting leaders.
- Artisans are excitable, trust their impulses, want to make a splash, seek stimulation, prize freedom, and dream of mastering action skills.
- Performers have the special ability, even among the Artisans, to delight those around them with their warmth, their good humor, and with their often extraordinary skills in music, comedy, and drama. Whether on the job, with friends, or with their families, Performers are exciting and full of fun, and their great social interest lies in stimulating those around them to take a break from work and worry, to lighten up and enjoy life.
- Performers are plentiful, something over ten percent of the population, and this is fortunate, because they bring pleasure to so many of us. Performers are the people for whom it can truly be said "all the world`s a stage." Born entertainers, they love the excitement of playing to an audience, and will quickly become the center of attention wherever they are. Performers aren`t comfortable being alone, and seek the company of others whenever possible-which they usually find, for they make wonderful playmates. Performers are smooth, talkative, and witty; they always seem to know the latest jokes and stories, and are quick with wisecracks and wordplay-nothing is so serious or sacred that it can`t be made fun of. Performers also like to live in the fast lane, and seem up on the latest fashions of dress, food, drink, and music. Lively and uninhibited, Performers are the life of the party, always trying to create in those around them a mood of eat, drink, and be merry.
- The Performers` talent for enjoying life is healthy for the most part, though it also makes them more subject to temptations than the other types. Pleasure seems to be an end in itself for them, and variety is the spice of life. And so Performers are open to trying almost anything that promises them a good time, not always giving enough thought to the consequences.
- Like the other Artisans, Performers are incurably optimistic-"Always look on the bright side," is their motto-and they will avoid worries and troubles by ignoring them as long as possible. They are also the most generous of all the types, and second only to the Composer Artisans [ISFPs] in kindness. Performers haven`t a mean or stingy bone in their body-what`s theirs is yours-and they seem to have little idea of saving or conserving. They give what they have to one and all without expectation of reward, just as they love freely, and without expecting anything in return. In so many ways, Performers view life as an eternal cornucopia from which flows an endless supply of pleasures.
